This page is for “Synology NAS” - 2-drive network storage solution.

Commentary

I currently use a Synology 2-drive NAS for centralized storage and backup management. Previously, I used a RN202 NAS from ReadyNAS, but transitioned to Synology for better software ecosystem and features.

Current Setup: The Synology NAS serves as my primary storage hub with RAM upgraded to 6GB for improved performance. It handles multiple critical functions including photo management with auto face recognition, book storage, and comprehensive backup solutions.

Backup Strategy: The system implements a multi-layered backup approach using Syncthing for local synchronization and encrypted outbound backups to two different cloud providers for redundancy and security.
